Northern Landings, 8 December 1941.
Japanese troops landed in Singora and Patani in sourthern Thailand. The Thailand signed a "Treaty if Alliance" with the Japanese. They also landed in Kota Bahru and destroyed British airfields there. 

Sinking of Battleships, 10 December 1941 .
British lost the support of airpower, the British warships, HMS Repulse and HMS Princes of Wales was easily sunk by the Japanese airforce planes. In two days time, the British lost the control of the sea, the sinking of these two battleships was considered the worst naval disaster for the British. 

The battle of Jitra, 11-12 December 1941 .
 The British had the "mistaken idea" that tanks was not suitable for jungle warfare, but it turns out that they were wrong, tanks was able to travel and is suitable for jungle warfare. Japanese tanks were able to move at such speed that the British was taken by surprise and couldn't believe it. Although British forces outnumbered the Japanese, but they were "no match" for their well-trained Japanese soldiers, therefore British lost the battle. 


Advancing Southwards, 17 December 1941.
As the japanese move out, they first advanced southwards, Penang and Ipoh were captured by the Japanese.

Battle at Slim River, 7 January 1942.
At the Slim River (in Perak), the British fought a losing battle against the Japanese. The British tired to use anti-tank guns to destroy the Japanese tanks but their weapons was useless and it turned out as a failure. The Japanese managed to captured large quantities of goods, ammunition and equipment. The battle at Slim River was a major victory for the Japanese.

THE FALL OF JOHOR, 31 January 1942.
The Japanese captured Johor and was already prepared to invade Singapore. The British hurriedly withdraw to Singapore and blew up the Causeway.
